Blue and Gold Banquet and Millennial Celebration

On February 13th, 2010, the long-awaited Blue and Gold Banquet finally came about. This year’s celebration was very special, indeed!
Because the troop and pack wanted to commemorate the 100th anniversary of scouting in the USA, several activities were planned in addition to the banquet.
The food was prepared and the tables and decorations arranged by volunteers Jenny and Joy Osterhout, and their families. The appointments were the most beautiful ever! Beef stew in homemade bread bowls was the main dish.
After dinner, the guests enjoyed a museum presentation set up by the troop. The exhibits included scouting paraphernalia from every decade from the 1930′s to THE 2000′s, as well as an outdoor demonstration of our camping set-up, complete with cobbler cooking in the fire pit!
Cubmaster Harry Dare then put on a really nice Arrow of Light ceremony, and a crossover for Cub Scouting to Boy Scouting for six boys. The boys who crossed were Jason Peatt, Chris Cespedes, Josiah DeMildt, Evan Webb, Matthew Landing, and Josh Osterhout. Congratulations boys!

Blindfolded Cubs are led to the stage where they will soon receive their Arrows of Light and cross over into Boy Scouts.
